Betzy, a tenant of this program is trusting ourselves, being real. I lived much of my life as a pleaser. I learned to please a father to avoid his anger as a kid. I pleased to a fault much of my life. No more. Being real for me is letting go of the pleaser. I continue to enjoy doing things for others. As I do things for others, I’m aware of my own needs vs. discounting myself as I chose to do in the past.
This story popped up in my fb feed as we were discussing being real last week in class. Perfect timing, I chose to share it.
